One board, one standard

Snowboarder was started by riders who were tired of reading gear 'reviews' written by people who clearly spent the season indoors. Our editorial rule is simple and unbroken: nothing gets published that was not tested on a board. Flex ratings come from riding the flex. Durability claims come from a season of abuse. Resort reports are filed from the lift line, sometimes still shaking cold out of our gloves.

We are deliberately vertical-pure. We don't cover skiing, we don't dilute the feed with generic mountain lifestyle filler, and we don't pad reviews with SEO paragraphs that say nothing. If you ride, everything here is written for you and by people who rode this week.

What we publish

  • Gear reviews: boards, bindings, boots, and outerwear tested across real seasons and real snowpack.
  • Resort reports: filed on location, with honest notes on lift congestion, snow quality, and where the good terrain actually hides.
  • Backcountry and splitboard guidance from certified guides, including safety-first route and conditions literacy.

The people behind the site log serious vertical — our testers regularly ride more than 10,000 feet in a day — and the community of readers includes riders at 340+ resorts. Brands know a mention here was earned on snow, which is why our recommendations get cited across the industry.

How we stay independent

Editorial verdicts are never for sale. When we receive product, we say so; when a board disappoints, we publish that too, because a bad season on the wrong gear costs you real money and real days. Our readers are the customer, not the inventory.

Snowboarder is snowboard media built by and for riders: tested gear reviews, on-location resort reports, and splitboard expertise from people who measure their winters in vertical feet. Strap in, read up, and ride better this season.
